Presentation Guidelines

Both oral and poster presentation should be conducted by one of the authors. Presentation by one of the coauthors can be considered only under unavoidable circumstances. In that case, please inform the secretariat (or.knt.co.jp ssdm2023-abs) of the situation and the final decision will be made by the program chair.

Audio-Visual Equipment

The following equipment is ready at each session room during SSDM2023:

  • * LCD projector
  • * PC (laptop computer, Windows 10 Professional) with PowerPoint 2019 and PDF Adobe Reader DC
  • * Projection laser pointer

Copy Your Presentation File

Please copy your presentation file to the PC equipped in each session room. (To be projected suitably at the lecture room, please prepare the slides in 16:9 aspect ratio.) All the oral presenters are asked to bring their presentation files with own USB thumb drive. In case you cannot insert your USB thumb drive to other person's PC due to security reason, please bring your own PC. Presenter view of PowerPoint cannot be used on the PC equipped in each session room. In case you use your own PC, connection must be tested before your session starts. You are requested to bring necessary adapters. Please be sure to test and check all the presentation slides in advance to make sure they will work properly. It is the presenter's responsibility to copy his/her presentation file as soon as possible in each session room at any break in advance to the session of presentation. The file must be compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint or Adobe Acrobat on Microsoft Windows indicated above.

Short Oral Presentation and Poster Presentation

Short Oral Presentation

All poster presenters MUST give the short oral presentations in Short Oral Presentation session scheduled on September 7, 1:30 P.M. - 2:30 P.M. The presentation time is 2 minutes, including the time needed to move on to the next presenter. For smooth progress of the session, the next presenter is asked to wait nearby in line for their turn. Only a PC projector will be available.

Please prepare and upload your short oral presentation file in advance. The presentation slides must be in 3-page PDF file in landscape orientation (the format of slides: 16:9), and the first page must indicate the paper title, name of authors and their affiliations only. Please kindly refer to the sample format of Short Oral Presentation file which can be found at the upload page. Because of the limited presentation time, please describe your research objective and results briefly. The file name should indicate your area, abstract number, and author's name (eg. Area1_C000001_S.Secretariat_short oral presentation file). Do not set password protection of the file, since the slides will be put together into a single file for each session.

Presenting Your Poster

You are requested to stay near your poster during the following time for discussions.

For those with odd presentation numbers
(e.g. PS-1-01, PS-4-07...)
3:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.
For those with even presentation numbers
(e.g. PS-1-02, PS-5-10...)
4:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.

Poster sessions are scheduled on Thursday, September 7 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. On September 7, you are requested to put your poster on the board before the session starts. Poster boards with identifying labels and push pin will be available in the morning on September 7. After the session, you must immediately remove your poster. Please note that after 5:30 P.M. all remaining posters will be disposed. Size of a poster board is 900mm wide and 2,100mm high. Please clearly display the paper title, author names and affiliations on the poster. The identifying label indicates only paper number.

Confidentiality

All presentation data will be completely deleted after the session.
